Members of Hollywood’s elite gathered at the Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, CA for the Environmental Media Awards on Saturday (September 29), to celebrate those among them most committed to protecting the environment. Honouring film and television personalities, productions, musicians and musical tours conveying environmental messages in the most creative and influential ways, Malin Akerman, Jessica Alba, and Ian Somerhalder were at the top of the guest list, especially when it came time to hand out the accolades.

Alba received the EMA Green Parent Award for her work, while Ian proudly received the EMA Futures Award. The Environmental Media Association (EMA) is a non-profit organization created in 1989 which believes ‘that through television, film and music, the entertainment community has the power to influence the environmental awareness of millions of people’. Attendees included Jessica Alba, Emily VanCamp, Daryl Hannah, Francesca Eastwood and James Van Der Beek. In the past, other entertainment industry heavyweights earn top honors include Justin Timberlake, Pierce Brosnan and John Travolta; all three have received special recognition for their impressive efforts to help get global climate back on track.
