February Newsletter – Oscars, Global Green & MIMI Magazine

I have landed my second cover with MIMI magazine – I am the first woman to grace MIMI’s cover alone twice; while only three other women-Nkhensani Nkosi, Teiko Dornor and Noella Coursaris-have graced MIMI’s cover twice in the magazine’s now six year year history, their second covers have always featured strong leading men (Nkhensani Nkosi: 2009 and 2006; Teiko Dornor: 2008 and 2006; and Noella Coursaris: 2007 and 2006). The issue’s theme is With Love and I am on the cover here.

The winning design for Red Carpet Green Dress this year was submitted by Venezuelan born, Miami-based Valentina Delfino and worn by ‘The Artist’ star Missi Pyle. The gown was made from peace silk and hand dyed safely on Californian soil at an OSHA approved facility, its rich aqua shade was created using natural mineral dyes.

Red Carpet Green Dress received fantastic support from notable partners around the world including Christian Louboutin, Stella McCartney, the Ambrose Hotel, Zem Joaquin, Founder & CEO of Ecofabulous.com, Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute and the Natural Resources Defense Council. Some of you may have seen me at the Oscars behind ‘Bridesmaids’ star Melissa McCarthy in the clip below from E! I was honoured to escort Missi Pyle down the red carpet on behalf of Suzy Amis Cameron, these images capture the fascinating experience, LA TimesElle and Ecouterre also covered our project.

I was interviewed at the Global Green Pre-Oscar party by OCTV. Seen by many as the green event of Oscar Week, Global Green’s Annual Pre-Oscar played host to 1,500 guests including celebrities, eco-luminaries and entertainment press from around the world. Gathered to hear the latest green messages from some of Hollywood’s biggest stars attendees included Adrian Grenier, Emmy Rossum, Maggie Grace and Sophia Bush.
