Red Carpet Green Dress Pre-Oscar Event at Chateau Marmont, Los Angeles February 2015

Red Carpet Green Dress celebrated the sixth consecutive year of the sustainable design campaign with a gala at the Chateau Marmont’s legendary Penthouse 64. The event also signalled the launch of the exclusive capsule collection ‘No Red Carpet Needed’, a collaboration with Reformation, the uber-cool brand worn by the likes of Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Karlie Kloss. On the night, six timeless and ready to wear wear versions of previous Red Carpet Green Dress Oscar gowns were revealed including the fabulous Samata dress as pictured below.

Described by the brand itself Reformation’s SAMATA dress is ‘Just a really lovely thing you’ll want to wear everywhere. The Samata Dress is a georgette gown with a high neckline, adjustable thin straps and an open back. The fit is close in the bodice, then loosens up through the skirt. There’s also a self belt in case you want more of a waist. This style runs a bit short and is best worn with flats, or on ladies 5’7″ and under. Perfect for a beach wedding or just brunch. Made from 100% viscose.’

All Reformation’s chic dresses, jumpsuits, tops and bottoms are made from sustainable fabrics – some are vintage, while others are surplus stock bought inexpensively. Be sure to pick one up!

The collection, which encompassed Reformation’s celebration of the feminine figure with effortlessly cool and chic silhouettes, saw a percentage of sales donated toward MUSE School CA. The event was sponsored by one-stop eco-shopping experience Lux & Eco, luxury vehicle brand Audi and artist Jason DeCaires Taylor.
