In 2011 Samata was nominated as One to Watch by Red Magazine, read more about her nomination as One to Watch Under 30 here. Now in their seventh year, the Red Magazine Women of the Year awards bring together people from a broad range of professions and different walks of life, from scientists and creatives, to celebrate the achievements of some of the most inspiring women of our time.

A plethora of inspiring women gathered at the Skylon restaurant at London’s Southbank Centre to celebrate the Red Women of the Year awards. The guest list included Shingai Shoniwa (pictured above), Joely Richardson, Emilia Fox, Emily Watson, Gemma Chan, Dame Kelly Holmes, Yasmin Le Bon and Grayson Perry to name a few.
