As many of you know Women for Women International is one of my charities of choice. Well, last month, as part of Women for Women International’s #SheInspiresMe campaign, The Store and Brewer Street Car Park became home to the first ever #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale.
Here is what Women for Women International had to say about the event and the women involved.
World-renowned designers and fashionistas including Alex Eagle, Alice Temperley, Bay Garnett, Charlotte Olympia Dellal, Hikari Yokoyama, Laura Bailey, Saffron Aldridge, Zoe Kuipers and Samata generously cleared out their own wardrobes and filled up car boots to raise money for the inspirational women survivors of war that Women for Women International supports. Fashion brand L.K.Bennett also sold chic sample sale pieces from their own car boot. Guests were treated to fashion and accessories on sale, ranging from affordable T-shirts and personal knick-knacks to well-priced ex-sample and designer pieces. There was also exclusive tote bags designed by Quentin Jones on sale at the event.
The #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale was a family friendly event, with a Kids’ Car Boot packed with items donated by local schools. Artist and filmmaker Quentin Jones oversaw the children’s craft area, featuring face painting, crafts and luxury tombola. The Braid Bar was on hand to indulge hair fantasies alongside a photo booth to record the results.
