As CEO, Samata’s vision for Red Carpet Green Dress focuses on the organisation’s longstanding exclusive partnership with The Academy, ongoing eco-collaborations creating accessible sustainable products for the global fashion industry with impact brands, sustainable retail, education with a focus on GenX, the creation of educational and entertaining digital content, alongside the expansion of RCGD’s global presence with a focus on emerging markets and manufacturing.

Samata’s career has spanned more than 15 years in fashion and media – from garment design and manufacturing to magazine editing and PR. She joined Red Carpet Green Dress initially as the campaign’s contest winner in 2011 before progressing to Campaign Director and then most recently Vice President. Her expertise in eco-design solutions and business has been called upon by sitting Prime Ministers and business leaders, alongside notable industry summits summits and platforms including ITV News, SXSW Eco, Copenhagen Fashion Summit, U.S Department of State Bureau of International Information Programs, Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Central St Martins (London), Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (LA), and Berkeley (NYC). Engaging with fashion design students and aspiring fashion entrepreneurs, Cambridge-born Samata creates content about sustainable business for platforms such as The Guardian, Huffington Post and VOGUE. A published author (Bloomsbury), before winning the design contest for Red Carpet Green Dress, Samata was an award-winning womenswear designer.
