Founded by Maggie Baird, mother of Academy and Grammy Award-winning artists Billie Eilish and FINNEAS, Support + Feed has made significant strides since its inception in 2020. In just three years, the organization has distributed nearly 400,000 plant-based meals and pantry items, alongside educational programs, to underserved communities through partnerships with 80+ community organizations, 60+ local and minority-owned restaurants, and 130+ volunteers.
The organization’s reach extends globally, with a presence in 41 cities worldwide. In the United States, they have a consistent presence in 11 anchor cities, and they are expanding through partnerships in the EU, UK, and Australia. Some of the US anchor cities include Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, New York, and New Orleans, while international cities include London, Dublin, and Paris.
Support + Feed encourages people to make a global impact through the Plant-Based Pledge. This initiative urges audiences to consume at least one plant-based meal a day for 30 days. The pledge’s message has reached an astounding 95 million people through collaborations with artists like Billie Eilish and Paramore, as well as engagements at festivals like Pharrell Williams’ Something in the Water and Lollapalooza.
Support+Feed is not only creating access to plant-based food for underserved communities but also launching a series of initiatives. These initiatives include Support + Grow, a hydroponic farm partnership with Boys and Girls Club Watts/Willowbrook, and OVERHEATED, a climate convention in collaboration with Billie Eilish to facilitate global dialogue on climate crisis mitigation.
In Australia, Support + Feed has partnered with OzHarvest to deliver 52,000 plant-based meals with educational resources across the country. Their website and social media platforms continue to offer information, inspiration, and support for those looking to make the transition to plant-based eating, furthering their mission to fight climate change and increase food security.
